Greetings Siblings in Christ,
Last year The Illinois Conference collaborated with Keith Clark-Hoyos of Church Training Center to launch a lay leader focused initiative to increase “Operational Efficiency” within our local churches. This initiative proved to be very informative, generative and provides critical and specified training for church leaders and participants in targeted areas of daily church operation. This initiative provides “cohort training” specifically targeted for lay leadership, in key areas of Church operation: church governance, church finances, church budgets, church taxes and church human resources. Each cohort consecutive weeks. The modality is Zoom format.
In 2024, we will be offering two different courses each quarter.
The cost to participate in each one of these cohorts/sessions is $125. Each cohort will be capped at 14 participants. Register early to guarantee your spot!
Each session is designed to be dialogical in nature. Some will begin with a PowerPoint presentation followed by group discussion. Others will be group discussions facilitated by the course facilitator. Additionally, participants will be invited to an online community for networking with each other and other best practice updates and webinars available to them.

Winter Cohorts:
Now That You’re The Moderator – Tuesdays, January 16 – March 19
Now That You’re The Treasurer – Wednesdays, January 17 – March 27
Spring Cohorts:
Budgets That Inspire Giving – Tuesdays, April 9 – June 4
Church & Taxes – Wednesdays, April 10 – June 5
Summer Cohorts:
Good Governance – Tuesdays, June 18 – August 13
Pastors and Church Finance– Wednesdays, June 19 – August 14
Fall Cohorts:
Employees, Independent Contractors, and Payroll – Tuesdays, August 27 – October 29
Building Financial Policies and Procedures – Wednesdays, August 28 – October 30
