Stewardship Event

A lot happened in the past five years. Churches ministered through many hardships primarily brought on by a pandemic. As a result, churches struggled just to keep congregations connected, continue ministry safely, and survive even during closure.
As we reflect on Paul’s words in II Corinthians it surely captures the challenges of the past few years: We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. We have been beaten, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights… yet, the passage also says: indeed, the “right” time is now. In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God.
God provides all of Creation as the stage, faithful stewards as the cast, and a needy world as the audience! So, indeed the time is now to turn up the lights, adjust the sound, open the curtain, it’s show time! Time for churches to show the true ministers of God which they were pre-pandemic and can be again!
The UCC Illinois Conference Stewardship Committee looks forward to a stronger, more hopeful future with churches throughout the conference. Prayerfully consider joining us at Peace Memorial Church, 10300 West 131st Street, Palos Park, IL 60464 for our June 1st seminar. Engage in our workshops: Three Best Practices to open churches to the greater works of generosity and Telling the Story, a teaching tool to share how churches make a difference through ministry and programs. Seminar is 9:15 am to 2:30 pm, all registration options include admission, workshops, a box lunch and refreshments, our optional virtual attendees can log -out during intermissions and lunch.

All registration options include admission and workshops. In person options include a box lunch and refreshments during intermissions. The rates are below. Register by May 15th to receive a discount. The deadline to register (other than for virtual attendance) is May 27th.

Registration is being done through Realm. You can pay online directly when registering (choose “Pay Now”) OR you can pay by check (choose “Pay In-Person”). If paying by check:
- Please make checks payable to “Illinois Conference UCC” and include “Stewardship Event” in the memo line.
- Mail the check along with a copy of your registration to: Illinois Conference UCC, 1840 Westchester Blvd Suite 200, Westchester, IL 60154.
- OR you can pay at the door on June 1st.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. You can register at the door, but we cannot guarantee meals for day of registrations. If you have special dietary needs, preregistration is required in order to accommodate these needs.
It is best to complete the registration on a computer and not a mobile device. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail once you have registered. If you do not receive this email, then your registration has not gone through.
